A leadership system for preventing burnout and disengagement.

SPARK helps leaders prevent burnout and disengagement by understanding what motivates their people and embedding that insight into everyday leadership systems.

How SPARK Leadership System works:

Measure

We begin with the SPARK Organizational Health Assessment to establish a baseline of engagement and leadership effectiveness.

Understand

Individual SPARK assessments identify the unique motivational drivers of your team members. We call these drivers the five SPARKS.

Activate

Leaders receive practical training and tools to align leadership practices with what motivates their teams.

Integrate

SPARK is embedded into everyday leadership systems including onboarding, recognition, and team communication.

Measure Again

A 6-month follow-up assessment measures cultural and engagement improvements.

The five SPARKS

SPACE - Autonomy

  • Allow employees to choose methods, tools, and workflows, and even create systems needed to perform their work

  • Judge work based on outcomes, not micromanagement.

  • Provide flexibility in the environment and schedule when possible.

Support - Uplift and Connect

  • Replace vague praise with specific, intentional feedback.

  • Make one-on-ones a priority.

  • Ensure managers understand true relational support and care.

STRUCTURE - Building Clarity

  • Provide repeatable processes

  • Define clear steps, roles, and expectations

  • Clearly define what success looks like..

STRETCH - Challenging Growth

  • Assign stretch projects, collaborations, or strategic initiatives.

  • Offer mentorships, CEUs, and clear career ladders.

  • Keep the bar high enough to challenge, achievable, and inspire.

SIGNIFICANCE - Purpose and Impact

  • Share the “why” behind every project.

  • Tell real stories highlighting the impact of your organization.

  • Connect employees’ personal values to organizational vision.

Meet the Founder

SPARK Leadership System was created by Jerrod Dorminey, a leader and entrepreneur with experience building and leading teams across multiple industries.

Throughout his career, Jerrod has owned and operated businesses in construction and marketing, served in executive leadership roles within nonprofit and ministry organizations, and led teams responsible for complex projects and mission-driven work. Across these environments, one pattern became clear: teams perform at their best when leaders truly understand what motivates the people they lead.

SPARK was developed out of that conviction. Drawing from years of leadership experience and working closely with teams in real organizational environments, Jerrod created a practical framework that helps leaders identify what drives engagement and translate that insight into everyday leadership practices.

Today, the SPARK Leadership System helps organizations measure engagement, understand what motivates their teams, and equip leaders with practical tools to build healthier, more effective workplaces.

The impact of engagement:

  • Higher productivity

  • Lower turnover

  • Stronger trust between leaders and teams

  • Greater discretionary effort

SPARK helps organizations turn engagement from a concept into a measurable leadership system.
